For many of Chef Katherine Myhand’s adventures in the kitchen, her friend and fellow Chef Cristina Mullins was with her. They worked together at Dram Yard restaurant in Wilmington and Mullins was Myhand’s sous chef for the Own Your Own culinary competition in Burgaw.

Now, Mullins is in need of help. Currently working at Tidal Creek Co-op, she was recently diagnosed with three cancers, and told that her treatment will include chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. A GoFundMe set up on her behalf has already raised thousands of dollars for her care.

In an effort to help, Myhand is hosting a soup fundraiser, Stirring Up Hope.
